Ladies' Tea Party

April 20, 2017

A few of weeks ago I hosted a Ladies' Tea Party at my church. I figured it was time for all the women (who work behind the scenes, who cook, who clean, who serve without complaint) to have a special event just for them!

(This is the slide that ran during the announcements on Sunday mornings & Wednesday nights)

It turned out beautifully! I got a bit carried away - but planning parties is apparently my favorite thing ever, so how could I not? I found tons of awesome, dainty vintage tea cups and saucers at my local antique stores (shout out to Blue Ridge Antique Center and Willow Tree Antiques & Primitives), along with eBay, of course. I mean, seriously- how did we accomplish (or afford) anything before the internet?!? And can I just say: eBay is ridiculously addicting. This was my first full-scale foray into that mysterious land of online auctions... and it was extremely difficult not to exceed my budget on every. single. item. I wanted it allllll!!!

But I digress.

Anyway, I stuck with a pink, rose gold, white, and gold color scheme (as much as possible), which I found to be a challenge, simply because I'm naturally drawn to all things turquoise. :P I'm ridiculous, I know. I hung paper lanterns and tissue paper puffs from the ceiling (special thanks to my sister, Valerie, for puffing up all the tissue paper!); I used a white roll of plastic tablecloth, and we doubled up the width of the tables to provide more decorating space. I found most of the decorations on Amazon (links below).

Valerie helped me decorate and prepare all the food (I could not do this life without her!); everything turned out perfectly! The fellowship hall was completely transformed into a magical, girly world. If you're interested in any of the food we made, check out my "Church Tea Party" Pinterest board; they're all there (plus plenty more that I didn't use!)

Can I just say Lavender Lemonade = UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS? I used 4 cartons of Minute Made Lemonade and added roughly 1/4  carton full of lavender syrup (link below)... sheer perfection. Every single person loved it!
