I bought a house, therefore I am behind on basically everything.
It's the cutest little cottage and has a humongous garage for Adam's auto & marine upholstery business. It's perfect for us right now!
In addition to all the normal household things (like painting and flooring and gardening and decorating and, let's be real, the unending list of miscellaneous things I never would have thought about otherwise...), I decided to actively be creative every day (if possible), and for the most part, I've stuck with it. Most of my activities are posted on my instagram account and I have thoroughly...
Since I'm obviously pretty terrible at updating, you'll just have to excuse my inconsistency. It's just gonna happen. I wish I could share some of my work designs, but they are, unfortunately, confidential. If I ever see any of the bags out I will post photos, though!
That being said, it's now time to post some updates of the last 6 months.
October was the final appreciation month the EIC held before being disbanded. I was planning on relinquishing the reigns, anyway, so it wasn't that big of a blow, but I was disappointed that no one else was willing to step up and help out w...
I was asked to design a logo for this year's "Company Christmas Party" at the W.E. Skelton 4-H Center at Smith Mountain Lake. We're still in the design stage at this point, but here are the first round of logos for them to look at:
They requested black & white versions, along with full color versions. The concept is pretty cool - they sell tables to small businesses to host their company Christmas party along with other small businesses, providing food, beverages, and entertainment!
This is a work in progress, but I thought I'd share what I have so far. A local gym (in Roanoke) asked me to design a logo for them, with the idea that they really liked the Foo Fighters logo. Here are the ideas I've sent them so far:
Hopefully they'll find something they like out of these choices, that we can then modify and/or build upon.
The Burnt Chimney Elementary PTO asked me to design a logo for their 2017 Bulldog Color Walk. An idea instantly popped in my head and they loved it! This has to be the quickest design I've ever done... we're talking start to finish, from their first contact to approval, right at 2 hours. That's the way I like to get things done!
Adam and I decided it was time we both were in desperate need for a fun vacation, perfectly timed to celebrate my birthday! He suggested Universal Orlando because he is the best boyfriend ever - he knows how much I love Harry Potter!!! My sisters and I had been in discussion for a while now trying to figure out when we all could go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter &/or Disney World (and other Disney parks), and though my sister Valerie couldn't go with us (she and her husband visited the Christmas markets in Germany last December, so they were still rebuilding their vacation funds...
My amazing hairstylist, Holly Fox, chose this logo to use! She asked me for a few options with floral backgrounds, so I searched one of my all-time favorite free stock photo websites (https://unsplash.com)for pictures and found several gorgeous options. This is the version she ultimately went with, but I'll post the other options below:
The EIC was entrusted with the responsibility to organize this year's company cookout... so initially we wanted to have the event here at our plant, in an upper parking lot. This infographic was our attempt to entice management to allow the event to be here.
It didn't work... lolol. Our cookout turned out great, though- we found a wonderful venue with lots of space and activities!
